"The Big One" Wedding Extravaganza '10
Most Anticipated Wedding Show of the Year in Southwestern Ontario is This Weekend
Well this is the weekend that Windsor Area Engaged Couples wait for and it seems that many of you have made plans to come in from out of town to plan your Windsor Wedding this weekend. With that in mind I am going to give you a few tips to make your wedding planning a bit simplier this weekend.
The show is open from 10:00 am -5:00 pm each day. If you want to avoid the typicallycrowded morning period you might want to consider arriving at the show after 12:30 when the first fashion show begins. This will give you some time to shop while many of our morning attendees are viewing the fashion show and you will be able to attend our second fashion show at 3:00. Wedding Bells and Jamieson Vitamins provide us with ample giveaways for all of our couples so not to worry, you won't miss out on our gifts to you.
If you are coming as a couple and the Groom finds that he has finished all his shopping but the Bride has more decisions to make "The Grooms Room" is the perfect place for the men to head down to. The Grooms room is open from noon-4:00 each day. It provides a haven for the men at the show. Sports will be on the big screen all weekend long and there is wine sampling, a free gift and black jack tables for the males to enjoy some free time in a relaxing lounge setting.
The show typically takes most couples 3 hours to get through. The Caboto Club provides their famous pasta luncheon and the members bar serves up delicious wood burning stove thin crust pizza. A cold drink or a hot cup of coffee are provided in these areas as well.
There are alot of prizes to be won at the show. Prepared brides may want to print up sticky labels including their wedding date, name, address, phone number and email address. Just stick them on prize ballots thoughout the show and save yourself loads of time.
You will recieve a bag at the front door as well as a show directory that includes all names and contact information for all our vendors in the WE'10 Show. Make sure to load your bag up with the many show coupons you will recieve. Keep these coupons and refer to your directory as you plan your wedding. You will find that they are a great resource of information for you in the upcoming months.
The show is put together keeping in mind that every wedding is unique from its budget, to its size, to its venue, to its theme. Wedding Extravaganza provides you with a wide range of business who can meet every couples needs. We know you will find exactly what you are looking for at the show.
As the organizer of the show I am always open to your comments after you attend the show. Feel free to email me after the show with any of your input. Nancyc@weddingshows.com. We constantly strive to meet our customers needs each year and we would love to hear what you have to say.

The Fall Wedding Event is quickly approaching.

As autumn quickly approaches, we prepare ourselves for comfortable weather, pumpkin patches, and turkey dinners. However, brides getting married in 2010 will be deep into preparation for their weddings as they attend the Fall Wedding Event on September 16 and 17. In a little more than a month, brides will come flocking into the Caboto Club of Windsor in hopes of finding the perfect florist, disc jockey, and photographer.

Some brides may be on the hunt for the wedding dress of their dreams, while others will be looking for decorators for their big day. In the case of the latter, they will have the opportunity to browse the “Artistically Inspired” Themed Rooms. Brides will be invigorated as they walk into these works of art. Anything and Everything will be creating the portrait of a perfect night in their room “Starry Nights.” In Elegance by Design's “Renaissance Room,” brides will feel a rebirth as they walk into an intricately created room of beauty. The artistic expression of colour and symbolism will inspire brides in Crystalove’s room “Picasso’s Party” and they will feel moved by the surrealism in the room “Lavish Dreams & Illusions” designed by It’s a Swanky Affair. Brides will understand the eternal appreciation of art as they walk through Windsor Event Décor’s “Timeless Reflections” room.

Everyone will be able to see some of the newest wedding fashions for men and women, presented by Windsor’s premier bridal and formal wear retailers. See what’s new for 2010 for the bride, the groom, your parents, and your entire wedding party.

Enter to win the Grand Prize Draw—a $500 or $200 Travel Voucher sponsored by Valente Travel or the 2nd place prize sponsored by Dean Martini’s. Weddingbells magazine one of the major show sponsors will have their latest issue for each bride to pick up at the show as well.

2010 Brides Are Snapping Up Wedding Dates

Landmark years always seem to be "big" wedding years and 2010 is shaping up to be one of those years. The phenomenon on exactly why this happens is somewhat up for grabs. It may be the fact that years like 2000 and 2010 have some superstitious beliefs attached to the numbers. It also may be the fact that it is just easier to remember the year you got married when celebrating your anniversary down the road. There is just something special about getting married in these landmark years and 2010 is proving to be a very hot year to pick for wedding dates.

With that being said, if you are planning on picking a date to marry the one you love in 2010, don't wait too much longer to slip the ring on her finger. Finding a hall will become harder and harder as the end of 2009 draws near. As well, services like wedding decorators, photographers and locations for wedding ceremonies will also be booked and at full capacity.

The Fall Wedding Show taking place Wednesday & Thursday Evenings September 16th and 17th in Windsor at the Caboto Club of Windsor is the perfect place to start and finish all your wedding planning details for your 2010 wedding. Check out http://www.weddingshows.com/ for all current and up-to-date details and register online to receive your $2 off admission coupon.

The Wedding Season Is Upon Us
Well it is now mid May and that means that the wedding season has started in full force in the Windsor/Essex County area. If you are thinking of a wedding date for 2010 and you are looking at a date in April-early November you better start knocking on doors quickly. Halls can book up to two years in advance during these months.
In this are, typically, the busiest wedding months are now September, May, October, August and July in that order. Long weekends are also peek periods as many couples like the idea of giving their out-of-town guests a long weekend to travel on and visit a little longer.
Just a few things to remember if you are getting married in the upcoming months. Breath...take time to reflect and relax each day. It's a great time to get outdoors and exercise on a daily basis. This routine will not only have a way of easing your pre-wedding jitters but it will help tone those muscles you are wanting to show off on your wedding day. With strapless dresses still all the rage, firming up your arms with a quick walk each day pumping 5 pound hand weights will do the trick incredibly fast.
Remember to take care of your skin by drinking lots of water and giving yourself a weekly facial. Visit one of our wedding show's fantastic Spas like Laser-It, Refresh Day Spa or Esteem Medical Spa. Their professional advice will get your skin in glowing wedding day shape in just a few visits.
Finally my best piece of "get ready for your wedding day advice" is don't sweat the small stuff. Look at the big picture and remember your wedding day is just one day out of the thousands that lay ahead of you in marriage. The way you approach this day will probably be a good test for the way you approach so many big days to come in your life together. Start now to practice taking things in stride and enjoying the moment for what it is.

GETTING READY IS HALF THE FUN!!!

Just like planning a wedding, getting ready for the Wedding Extravaganza Show, one of Canada's largest wedding shows is half the fun. Registrations coming into our website www.weddingshows.com are overwhelming this year. One interesting trend we are seeing is that there are many brides who are living out of town but planning their wedding in Windsor and making a trip home on January 17th and 18th to plan their wedding here in Windsor at the Wedding Extravanaga '09 Show. We heard from one bride in Texas who is making her way back home to Windsor next weekend to plan her September wedding which will take place here in Windsor...we can't wait to see each and every one of you. We are so excited to be part of the planning of your wedding.

Brides a new exciting feature this year is the Groom's Room. Getting your partner to the show to plan your wedding should be so much easier this year. You can spend more time at the show planning your wedding by simply suggesting that the groom visits the Groom's Room while you take your time & finish up all the little details. Grooms and any males who accompany him to the show -Dads & attendants, are all welcome to this very special room just for men. Each Groom will receive a complimentary gift as they enter the room. Guests to the room will be able to sample Hiram Walker Whiskey products, Sprucewood Winery and Pelee Island Winery products. Black Jack tables will be set up so everyone can try their hand at winning one of two prizes donated by Sears- A GPS System or a Men's Clinique Happy Gift Basket valued at $150.00. Of course all the big sports games will be on a 56" colour flatscreen television so you won't miss a sports highlight. The Grooms Room is open from Noon until 5:00 pm daily and will be located in the Library area just off the Members Bar in the lower level.

Okay...now back to the planning!

How to Make Everyone Happy

One question that often comes up when discussing planning a wedding with couples is "How do we make everyone happy". First lets start by saying trying to make everyone involved in your wedding happy will be close to impossible. By beginning your planning by starting with this premise your wedding planning will be made easier.

Once you are engaged it is important to sit down as a couple and discuss exactly what each of you invision for your wedding day. This should include an extensive conversation between the two of you including your budget (exactly what the two of you are willing to spend in out of pocket funds), number of guests who will be invited to the big day and the components of your wedding day that are important to you. This is the time to start compromising for the rest of your life together. Take your partners view into serious consideration and try to work together to come up with a wedding plan that will work for both of you. It amazes me how many couples get engaged and never have this conversation. One person and it is normally the bride just starts running with the planning until one day it becomes obvious to the groom that he is getting involved in an event that was not exactly what he had in mind...talk and talk now!!!

Next get together with each of your parents. Don't bring all the parents together for one meeting. Make sure to have parents over or out for dinner separately so they are comforable with expressing their views. Let them know what you have decided as a couple you are planning for your wedding day. Do this soon after you are engaged. At this time ask parents their views on your vision. Now is the time to compromise with parents. One of the biggest issues will be number of people invited to the wedding. Parents may want to invite guests you never imagined at your wedding. Now is the time to discuss the number of guests you would like to keep the invitiation list to. It will cause less grief later. Parents will often let you know at this time what they are willing to financially help you out with. Consider this is the rest of your wedding planning budget.

Finally many in your wedding party will have their vision of what your wedding day should be like. Remember especially when chosing dresses that this is one area that the bride should consider her attendants opinions. You don't want a group of unhappy ladies standing up for you because you made them wear a purple dress with pink polka dots that is your favorite colour but look horrible on everyone in your wedding party. Brides make some compromises here and make sure your bridesmaids all feel comfortable and are happy with their dresses. One great way of doing this is by choosing a colour and let the bride choose the style that best suits her figure.

Finally remember that this is one day for is the start of the rest of your life together. How you get through this wedding planning stage will likely have a direct impact on how you get through other milestones in your life together. Beginning to work together as a couple will have a beneficial effect on your relationship for many years to come...happy planning and remember the easist way to plan your wedding together is at the Wedding Extravaganza '09 Show at the Caboto Club of Windsor on Saturday January 17th and Sunday Janaury 18th. This is a great place to bring your parents along so they feel part of your big day!!
